Maroons vs Kyambogo United
Luzira Prisons Ground, 4:00pm
Maroons football club have the chance to confirm return to the top tier league this Tuesday in their own back yard.
The Prison warders need just a point in the game they will play against Kyambogo United at the Luzira Prisons ground.
The game initially supposed to be played at the start of this month was postponed following reports about the death of goalkeeper Ronald Kiggundu.
However, it was later confirmed that the shot stopper was alive and by the time of the alleged tragedy, he was on holiday in Dubai.
Maroons who lead Elgon group on 42 points and two games to play are three points ahead of second placed Ndejje who have played a game more.
A point off Kyambogo today will mean, Maroons move to 43 points and that guarantees their prime position in the group.
Young midfielder Pius Obuya is confident the team will get the positive result they need to earn promotion.
“We are ready for the game. Everyone is looking forward the magnitude of the game because it takes us to another step and that is what we have been fighting for,” he said.
Masavu are the only side that has sealed direct entry to next year’s Uganda Premier League.
