When Lira based Sporting United host Busia Fisheries on Wednesday, they will be going not just for a win but a convincing one.

The coach Dan Ogwal Engwedo’s side are second in the Elgon group with 44 points, six below their rivals Onduparaka FC but boast a game in hand as well as facing their opponents in the last game of the season this Saturday.

Intact, if Sporting win both their games, then they’ll book the lone direct slot in the group.

Busia Fisheries with 33 points have nothing to lose in their remaining games apart from playing for pride. Given any result, the coach Bob Magero’s team can only swap positions with sixth place Artland Katale.

In Rwenzori, Synergy will be hosting already relegated Citizen FC in Masaka. Citizen failed to make both their last away games to Kirinya Jinja SS and Hope Doves FC. They could be flashed to the fourth division in case they fail to appear today.

In the last match of the day, Hope Doves will be seeking to save their season and at least finish the season among the top four if they pick four points from their remaining games. They play Wakiso at Wankulukuku.
