Botladz Woodball club men’s team made a big statement in their intent to claim the maiden title of the national Woodball championship after an impressive performance over the weekend.

The first trio of Jesse Ntege, Isaac Ariho and Michael Nuwematsiko were too good for Kampala International University’s Abubakar Sadiq, Joel Munyendoh Chote and Stephen Mugira. The Botladz won 3-0.

The result between KIU and Botlaz was replicated in the ladies category where Sharon Peace Nabirye, Mukoova Joan, Jerotich Sharon and Florence Mukoya all won their games.

The Botladz team suffered a scare in their second game when Isaac Ariho was shocked to lose 7-4 to UCU’s Wilson Musinguzi.

However, Franco Kibuule who had replaced Stephen Mugira levelled matters against Michael Kanyesigye before Jesse Ntege and John Baptist Kateregga gave the lads a 2-1 win.

The result means, Botladz lead the men’s table with seven points followed by Zoe with five.

Match day 3 will continue on Saturday, June 04, 2016 at MUBS in Nakawa.

Results:

Men:
KIU 0-3 Botladz
Zoe 2-1 Titans
UCU 1-2 Botladz
Proway 1-2 Zoe

Women:
KIU 0-3 Botladz
Botladz 1-2 Zoe
