Vipers SC Joins South African Giants in Race for “Hotcake” Anukani

Premier Super League side Chippa United and Uganda Premier League defending champions Vipers Sports Club have joined the race to sign Proline’s midfield gem, Bright Anukani.

A source close to the player’s camp has revealed to ChimpReports that the South African side Chippa United have tabled a whooping USD 30,000 (Shs. 115M) to land the intelligent player from the recently relegated UPL side.

A thread of South Africans (PSL) clubs intensified interested in the Ugandan talent after a brilliant showing in the 2019 CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup hosted in Kampala, finishing as Uganda’s top scorer with three goals.

He went on to orchestrate Uganda’s success in the championship as the Jonathan McKinstry side defeated Eritrea 3-0 in the finals played at Lugogo.

Also, local big spenders, Vipers Sports Club is in hot pursuit for the stylish player who slightly missed out on the 2019 FUFA Most Valuable Player, coming seceond to age-mate Allan Okello.

A source near Vipers’ camp which preferred anonymity told this website that the club’s patron Dr Lawrence Mulindwa is willing to break-open the piggy bank and table a sum of shs.100m in case the Lugogo outfits can warmly welcome the offer.

Several other domestic clubs are reportedly preparing bids for the Anukani who is currently under Pro-Zone management.

Earlier on, 13-time UPL winners KCCA Football Club were reportedly interested in the golden boy who is seen as Allan Okello’s replacement. Tanzanian big spenders Azam FC are waiting in the wings, ready to table a fruitful deal in order to land the sensational player whose contract with Proline expires at the end of the 2020/2021 season.
