Local pool fans and players have a date to honor this coming Easter as they descend to Masaka town for PAU Easter Cup. The event has been organized by the Pool Association of Uganda and is sponsored by Club Klein (Masaka).
The two-day tournament will cue off on Good Friday (25th) and climax on Saturday 26th March. According to PAU, the event will feature a maximum of 128 men and 32 ladies.
The tourney is in line with the local pool governing body of spreading and popularising the game in the various regions and grassroots and involving more partners.
“We extend our sincere thanks to Club Klein management for making this happen and call upon other prospective partners in other regions to join with us in supporting both our cause and their business interests,” PAU chairman Mr. Farouk Kisuze remarked adding that “This is one of the PAU strategies to develop the sport in upcountry regions as we aim to increase our national spread, and we hope to venture into other regions with other sporting events which is in line with the greater PAU roadmap.”
Among the big shots expected to grace the tourney include defending champion who is also Uganda’s Seed One, Amos Ndyagumanawe and last year’s losing finalist Sula Matovu.
Reigning champion in the ladies category, Ms.Victoria Namuyanja will have to navigate through stiff competitions from the home based(Masaka) players as well as national competitors like Busingye Angela and Nimusiima Ritah.
