The Uganda Senior Men’s football team (Uganda Cranes) has improved by one position according to the latest FIFA rankings released on Thursday.
According to the latest rankings released by the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA), the Cranes have jumped to the 76th position with 1321 points.
In the CECAFA regional rankings, Uganda has been unmoved from it’s top position ahead of Kenya (103th), Rwanda (133rd) and Tanzania (134th).
Still in the region, Ethiopia (5th), Burundi (6th), and South Sudan (7th) are positioned at 146th, 148th and 168th overall.
On the continent, Senegal maintains it’s top spot but is ranked 21st overall followed by Tunisia (26th), Algeria (30th), Nigeria (32nd) and Morocco (39th).
The rankings come at a time when Uganda Cranes prepares to face South Sudan in the 2021 AFCON Qualifiers double header scheduled for 9th and 17th November.
The first leg will take place at the St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende while South Sudan will host the Cranes in Nairobi, Kenya for the second leg.
