Landlords KCCA FC and tenants Police settled for a 1-1 draw during a Uganda Premier League game played on Friday at the MTN Omondi stadium in Lugogo.

Youngster Sadat Anaku’s reflex header cancelled out Muwada Mawejje’s first half strike as hosts KCCA FC salvaged a point off Police after trailing at halftime .

KCCA’s resilience was broken after 13 minutes thanks to Muwada Mawejje who put Police in an early lead off his fine tapping from the workaholic left winger Duncan Senninde.

The roving left footed winger raced onto a through ball from Odong Johnson to dribble past his marksmen in Gift Ali and Filbert Obenchan before sliding the ball past goalkeeper Charles Lukwago to meet free man Mawejje for an easy tap in.

Derrick Ochan later came to Police’s rescue with a finger tip save to deny Charles Lwanga’s bouncing header off Samuel Kato Nemeyimana’s delivery.

The visitors made an early substitution withdrawing dreadlocked forward Brian Muluuli for the gangly Henry Kisekka at the stroke of halftime.

From the break, KCCA goalkeeper Charles Lukwago made two fine finger tip saves thwarting Tony Kiwalazi and substitute Kisekka attempts for corner kicks.

In the 60th minute, Ben Ocen replaced goal scorer Mawejje before the substitute’s shot off Senninde’s curling cross razzed off the woodwork.

On the 69th minute mark, Sadat Anaku drew matters level with a powerful distant header. The lanky striker jumped high and flicked an inswinging cross from Samuel Kato into the left corner, a goal that left goalkeeper Derrick Ochan wondering.

The hosts would have put the game to bed but Bright Anukani shot wide Anaku’s defense splitting pass before center referee Alex Muhabi cautioned goalkeeper Ikara for a foul challenge.

The Kasassiro Boys dominated the final minutes, posing more questions to the Cops but defender Henry Katongole and Hassan Mahmood were solid in defense to counter KCCA threats.

After stretching their unbeaten run to seven games, KCCA remains fourth on the log with 27 points garnered while Police are in 5th with 25 points after match day 14.
