Wakiso Giants Football Club will play the next four Uganda Premier League matches without their talisman Viane Sekajugo, same as Mbarara City whose defenders Hillary Mukundane and Stephen Othieno after getting suspended.

The trio has been suspended for ‘misconduct’.

According to FUFA, disciplinary proceedings were opened against Ssekajugo in the aftermath of Kitara FC Vs Wakiso Giants match that was played on 10th March 2021 at Kavumba Recreation Ground.

After Wakiso Giants’ 3-2 defeat to Kitara, the pint-sized forward who had scored a brace for the Purple Sharks was not contended with the referee’s game handling hence resorted to verbal offensive attacks towards match officials.

The FUFA Competitions Disciplinary Panel identified and took into account the fact that Ssekajugo indeed contravened Article 30(2) of the FCR and also considered his remorseful response to the panel before passing judgement.

The disciplinary pannel has henceforth decided to “suspend Ssekajugo Viane for four (4) Competition Uganda Premier League matches effective immediately as of 17th March 2021. Should the player fail to heed to the sanction, the FUFA CDP shall be constrained to take stringent disciplinary measures against you.”

Sekajugo will therefore miss Wakiso Giants’ first four games upon Uganda Premier league restart after the international break.

Also, Mbarara City’s Mukundane and Othieno have been held accountable for use of threatening, harmful, offensive, rude, insulting comments and violent conduct towards match officials in the Onduparaka FC Vs Mbarara City match played on the 9th of March 2021 at Green light stadium Arua.

The Competitions Disciplinary Panel also identified and took into account the fact that both Othieno Stephen and Hillary Mukundane admitted to contravening Article 30(2) of the FCR .

Both players have therefore been suspended for four matches begining with the Ankole Lions’ last game of round one against against BUL FC at Kakyeka stadium in Mbarara today.
