Onduparaka FC skipper Muhammad Jagason Shaban was on Monday treated to a VIP reception by local leaders from his town Arua, ChimpSport exclusively learnt.
The youngster impressed on Saturday in a seven goal thriller as the Caterpillars inflicted a 4-3 loss to SC Villa with two second half goals in the 48th and 86th minute.
The luncheon was organized by Arua Residence District Commissioner, Mr Peter Debele and LCV Chairperson Hon. Wadri Sam Nyakua at the West Nile golf club.
“We appreciate what Shabaan has done and we encourage him to keep the spirit and aim higher because his talent is special and exceptional,” said Arua RDC Mr. Peter Debele.
He added “This is an appreciation for the wonderful display he put against SC Villa on Saturday.”
Shabaan’s brace propelled him to the top of the scorers chart with five goals after seven outings, three below second placed Vipers SC and six behind leaders KCCA FC who have played a game more.
He was recently summoned to the Uganda Cranes squad for Togo and Ghana assignment but was dropped at the last moment.
Onduparaka have a fortnight rest up to October 15th when they face off with URA FC in Lugazi.
